Transforming Plastic Waste Into Stronger Bricks Than Concrete

  Nzambi Matee is a materials engineer in an organization located in local Kenya producing paving blocks produced using plastic waste and sand that are less expensive, more grounded, and more tough than concrete or comparable blocks. For her endeavors and efforts, the United Nations names Matee a Young Champion of the Earth.

    Matee, who is grauated in material science and worked as an engineer in a oil industry, she was inspired to recycle the plastic bags strewn along Nairobi’s streets in kenya.

    In 2017, Matee quit her place of employment as an data analysing examiner and set up a little lab in rear side of her mom's yard. She started making and testing pavers, which are a blend of plastic and sand. The neighbors griped about the boisterous machine she was utilizing, so Matee argued for one year's effortlessness to build up the correct proportions for making her paving blocks.
